The Massachusetts Educators of English Language Learners (MATSOL) has compiled multilingual literacy resources for families in honor of Family Literacy Month in Massachusetts. It includes resources in Spanish, Portuguese, and other languages spoken by Marlborough families. Sunovion 'Hands On' day of service at MPS
On Oct. 17, hundreds of volunteers from the Marlborough-based Sunovion Pharmaceuticals Inc. rolled up their sleeves and dedicated a day of their time to help the Marlborough schools with various projects.  To learn more about this generous volunteer effort, click here!

PARENTS: On Oct. 15, MPS schools mailed out letters to parents/guardians regarding the 2014 MCAS scores, school accountability and performance, and initiatives that target areas for improvement. Also included with each letter grades K-8 was a Title 1 Compact for parents. Community Workers Day
Oct. 2 was Community Workers Day at Richer. Second-graders learned about the work of and the tools used by fire fighters, police officers and restaurant chefs. Thank you to Officer Stetson, Chef Trudeau, and Firefighter Hicks for your time!

Family Math & Literacy Night
More than 200 families spent the evening June 3 in the Richer gym, cafeteria and classrooms playing games and doing arts and crafts designed to reinforce math and literacy skills in a fun, family-friendly environment. Below are some highlights of the evening; thank you to everyone who participated in making this such a wonderful event!

Parents: Starting with the 2012-13 school year, the district implemented a standards-based report card system. These report cards differ from those in the past; the new report cards reflect the Common Core standards embedded in the district’s new curriculum. Feedback on the report cards will be collected periodically to identify and develop revisions as needed.
